Case study and app design for a fashionista's start-up business. Bringing a personal stylist to your pocket.
Case Study SaaS Mobile App Design
Project Overview
Overview
An entrepreneur loves helping people pick out outfits. She decides to create an app where she can curate outfits for different styles, venue types and budgets.
Wants a drop-shipping app where outfits are curated and all pieces are buyable.
Wants to allow users to upload images of their own clothing items for easy outfit sorting.
Wants there to be membership tiers outside of standard/free usability.
Wants to use AI to learn from the user's preferences for personalization of daily outfit suggestions.
02 - Design
My goal was to create a visual identity that’s aligned with the client's values and personality, which is: chic, feminine, and classy. Also, I’ve checked similar applications for inspiration.
I chose a light color scheme for a clean minimalist look. I chose Blush, Cream, Champaign, and Rose as the core color scheme for the Brand and the App's interface. The color scheme's purpose is to have a feminine, and trendy 'clean girl' aesthetic.
I made mockups following Material Design and HIG design guidelines so the app could be seamlessly integrated across device platforms.
My design was Mobile First as that was main intended use of the product. I designed for both android and iOS.
My final design brought the client's idea to life.
03 - Impact
The project is still in the design phase but so far the process has been tremendous. The client is really happy with how her vision is coming to life and hopes to launch soon. This project started as a goal and idea to work on while undergoing chemo and radiation. Post-recovery perhaps I can make this "dream" project a reality.
